Basic tab, by block

• Select/inspect: Pick, Info, Measure.
• Lines: Line, Connected Lines, Parallel Line, Perpendicular Line, Filleted/Chamfered Lines, Tangent Angle Lines.
• Rectangles/circles: Rectangle, Center Point Rectangle, Circle, 2-Point Circle, 3-Point Circle.
• Points/arcs: Point, Center Point Arc, 2-Point Arc, 3-Point Arc, Tangent Point Arc, 2-Tangent Circle, 3-Tangent Circle, 3-Segment Fillet.
• Polygons: Inscribed, Circumscribed, Edge Polygon.
• Corner treatments: Chamfer, Fillet, Inside Fillet, Corner Step, Edge Recess, Edge U-Cut, Edge V-Cut — weld-prep / bend-relief / corner-relief features we have not cataloged; candidates for the feature taxonomy when the CAD-edit layer is defined.
• Edit/QC: Fit Arc, Join, Offset, Common Shape, Move, Rotate, Scale, Mirror, Remove Small Segments, Mark Open Polylines, Highlight Duplicate Segments, Mark Small Segments, Mark Non-Tangent Corners, Mark Large Radius.
• Arrays: Rectangular array, Circular array, Make array from selection.
• View/setup: Snap grid, Layer Setup, Shift Origin, Redraw, Zoom, View Setup.

What it means for us

The edit/QC block is MetaCam's manual face of our automatic pipeline: their Mark buttons enumerate the same defect classes our healer/QC detects (open loops, duplicate segments, micro-segments, non-tangent corners/kinks), Fit Arc is our arc re-fit, Remove Small Segments our micro-segment cleanup, Mark Large Radius the manual cousin of our arc-center ceiling. Their model: operator hunts defects one button at a time. Ours: detect + heal + report automatically, operator overrides (aid-the-operator philosophy). This toolbar joins EDIT_TOOLING, Layout Array and the Add-Toolpath walkthrough as a reference feature set — record, do not build (phase rule).

Every button needs a home (Jordan, 2026-08-31 — ruling)

'You are correct that a lot of these buttons we automatically do, however, because we have to be flexible for the operator, all buttons like these need a home.' Automating a function does NOT retire its manual button — the aid-the-operator philosophy means our interface still gives each of these operations a manual home; automation sets the default, the button is the override. Applies to the whole three-tab set.

Standard Windows top toolbar, deliberately not dictated ('every friggen program in the world on a Windows machine uses these'): New / Open / file ops, Save / Save-all, Print / Print preview, Undo and Redo with history dropdowns, Cut / Copy / Paste / Erase, then the zoom cluster (named by Jordan, 2026-08-31): Zoom extents (zoom all), Zoom previous, Transparent zoom (rubber-band a box, the banded area fills the screen), and Crosshair mode — Jordan's verdict: 'useless'; an active-layer dropdown (showing 0), What's-this help and Help.
