The ring and the triangle each stand on three spacers fixed back to the wall, sited, measured and marked by the template. The cloud has nothing. It sits flat on the wall at height 0 and no fixing was ever placed for it.

It is not a detail that can be left to the installer, because of the interaction with Aristide's rule that a hole in the black is acceptable only where it is never seen. The cloud's never-seen area is the 19.47 in² the ring and triangle cover, all of it inside a 10.8 × 7.1 in patch in the upper right of a 28.7 × 17.7 in plate weighing 11.8 lb. Screws through the face can be hidden, or they can be spread across the plate, but not both.

Three ways out, none of them ours to pick:

• Face screws in the hidden patch only — invisible, but the whole left half of the cloud is unfixed and will stand proud of the wall.
• Face screws where they are needed, and accept them — countersunk and finished, treated as part of the look rather than a defect.
• Studs welded to the back — no hole in the face anywhere, and it answers the mounting question the customer sheet already flags as open. It needs its own marking trick, because the cloud covers its own stud positions when it is sitting in the template window.

Related: the customer sheet's mount note already says the plate-to-spacer joint (screw through the face, or stud welded on the back) is “the only part of the mounting anyone sees”. Whichever way that is answered for the ring and triangle probably answers this too.
