Ruled by Aristide 2026-08-19 (sitting answers, /design/answers/): two surfaces, one engine. Sales uploads files, assigns material types, gets auto-generated nests for material-use and time estimates that equate to pricing; pricing includes a shop fee / minimum-startup charge kept in a table each shop sets for itself (table discipline: a row someone types, provenance beside it, never a literal). The sales result is SAVED and becomes the cadmaster operator's starting point; automation produces a customer approval file; after approval come final nest, heal check, review, cut plan, G-code. Verbatim scope note: 'the programs could almost originate from the sales team… It probably just moves the start. It doesn't move the program.' Flagged risky: contains intent (time estimation model, approval artifact) a reader could take as built — none of it exists in code today.
