rulingmixedA decision by Aristide or Jordan. True because it was decided; it can be superseded, but it cannot be stale.

The ruling (Jordan, 2026-08-10): when artwork carries a mirror split — vertical or horizontal — repair mode must pay attention to what happens on the left side and the right side of the split, not heal each side independently. His three marked-up images of the daisy cross source show the file disagreeing with itself:
- Crotch corners (cross_center): left side rounded, right side a sharp 90 — and the right-hand cut-out band tapers, narrower toward the top.
- Inner V-notches (cross_top): sharp on one side, blunt on the mirror mate. Ruled: reconcile toward BLUNT — it matches the file's dominant corner treatment, and kerf can never render a truly sharp inside corner anyway.
- Outer side-lobe tips (cross_top_outer): the two shapes are simply not the same — the asymmetry is in the outer profile itself, not just corner treatment.
Built (2026-08-10, same day — Jordan: "the one I pointed out in here is not fixed at all")
repair.py, applied AFTER healing and after the fidelity measurement — repair deviates from the source on purpose, so its numbers are reported beside the heal fidelity, never blended into it. Opt-in per job via CADM_REPAIR env on build_bridged.py.
- symmetrize() — a contour that was MEANT to be symmetric (98th-pct reflection error under 0.10) is rebuilt as its left half + the mirror of it; contours that fail the gate (letters, one-sided art) are left alone. Keep-left is measured, not assumed, on the daisy cross: the left side carries the rounded crotch and the blunter notch (7.6° vs 11.1° max local turn), and blunt/rounded is the ruled winner. Splice points land on the axis tips (design corners). Measured on build 022: 3 contours reconciled, worst left-right disagreement healed 68 thou, reflection error after = 0.
- kern() — glyph clusters by x-overlap (>30% of the smaller width, so a dot joins its stem but grazing letters stay apart); ONLY operator-named pairs move, to the clearance of the operator-named norm pair; the right member and everything right of it shift together so unflagged gaps are preserved. Daisy: norm a-i 104 thou; D-a 170→105; s-y 3 (touching)→104; i-s untouched by instruction.
